Details

Pleurotus ostreatus is one of the most widely cultivated oyster mushrooms in the world. Native to temperate forests across Europe, Asia, and North America, it naturally grows on dead and decaying hardwood trees.

This saprophytic species (a fungus that feeds on dead organic matter) is known for reliable production and excellent yields. Blue Oyster develops deeper blue-grey coloration when grown under cooler conditions and requires fresh air and light to form healthy fruiting bodies.
