Details
Ganoderma lucidum, commonly known as Reishi, is one of the most extensively studied medicinal mushrooms. Native to Asia, it naturally grows on hardwood logs and stumps.
Unlike gourmet mushrooms cultivated for food, Reishi is primarily grown for medicinal extracts, powders, and functional products. The species produces characteristic varnished shelf-like fruiting bodies and requires a longer cultivation cycle than most edible mushrooms.
