How should I store cultures when they arrive?

Refrigerate agar plates and liquid cultures at about 2 to 4°C, sealed and away from light, and let a cold syringe come to room temperature before you use it. Grain spawn is best used promptly and kept cool and out of direct sun until you inoculate. Avoid freezing unless a strain is specifically prepared for it. Cool, clean, and sealed is the rule.
