What is the best way to start growing mushrooms in India?
In much of India the simplest start is oyster mushrooms on pasteurised straw during the cooler and monsoon months, when humidity is naturally high. Pink oyster and milky mushroom handle summer heat far better than button or shiitake. Grow in a shaded, ventilated room, keep straw and spawn clean, and mist to hold humidity. Button mushrooms suit winter and hill-station climates.
