Do mushrooms need light to grow?

Mycelium colonises fine in the dark, but most mushrooms need some light to trigger pinning and to form normal caps and colour. Indirect daylight or a few hours of ordinary LED light a day is plenty; direct sun is not needed and can dry things out. Without light, fruits often grow pale, leggy, and misshapen.
