How do I identify Trichoderma (green mould)?

Trichoderma starts as white mycelium that is easy to mistake for your culture, then turns a distinctive forest green as it sporulates, often with a sharp edge where it meets the mushroom mycelium. It spreads quickly and is the most common contaminant because its spores are everywhere. Once it turns green, the affected grain or substrate cannot be saved.
