What is the difference between liquid culture and spores?

Spores are the mushroom's seeds and carry mixed, unproven genetics, so a spore syringe can give uneven results. Liquid culture is living mycelium from one selected strain, so it colonises faster and behaves predictably. Spores are useful for breeding and isolating new strains, while liquid culture is better for reliable, repeatable grows.
